Erica earned her Bachelors in Biology, and Masters in Toxicology & Environmental Health from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and has focused her career on water and its connection to public health and ecology.

As a Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholar, she conducted independent research on the ecological and socio-economic links between heavy metals in Lake Chapala, Mexico, and the dietary habits of local populations.
Most recently, she has concentrated her efforts on a multi-village Biosand Filter and WASH initiative throughout Ecuador. She now works for Rotary International as the Area of Focus Manager in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene and Manager of the RI/USAID Alliance.
