Newsletter – Fall 2020

Eileen Heasley & Nikki Beetsch

We hope you and yours are doing as well as can be expected during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The AVFCW team has been busy behind the scenes meeting with each other virtually, seeing how our time and money can best be spent to assist others during the continuing outbreak.

This newsletter announces some big news: our founder and Executive Director, Eileen Heasley, will be stepping down from her current role and be transitioning into the role of Chairperson of AVFCW. In her place, current Board Member Nikki Beetsch will be the new Executive Director.

Nikki joined AVFCW Board in July of 2018 and is eager to apply her skills and passion to guide this organization into the future. Nikki’s educational and professional background align well with AVFCW’s mission and initiative. She has been employed for over 20 years by NSF International, a public health and safety company globally headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Thank you for all you have done with AVFCW Eileen! We look forward to continuing our mission in the same vein that you and your husband started the organization with way back in 2003.

Don’t forget to like our Facebook page to stay in touch with us on what is happening in the world regarding water and sanitation efforts!

Hello Nikki: Congratulations on stepping into the role of Director for a Vision for Clean Water. I am a member of the Rotary Club of Ann Arbor and our International Humanitarian Projects Committee. We have had a very successful project in Bumpeh Chiefdom, Sierra Leone for the past four years. We now embarking on a new Global Grant to address malaria. I wonder if there would be a way too collaborate and use the knowledge A Vision for Clean Water has gained since a component of the project will involve building latrines and wells. Would it be possible for me to set up a Zoom meeting with you and several people on our end involved with the project? Let me know what you think and when it might be convenient for you.
